Proposal: Game Theory

At the time of this writing, we have some 7-8 questions with 10+ votes, some 2-3 questions with a little less than 10 votes, and a large number of questions just hanging around on 1-5 votes. We already have the required number of followers to move to the next phase. We need more up-voted questions. Those who have already exhausted their stock of 5 votes- maybe we can re-distribute some of our votes from questions already having 10+ votes to push up the questions lying at 8-9 votes.

Those of us who still have their 5 votes remaining- please use them judiciously.

    I downvoted because I do not think that votes should be cast in order for the proposal to be completed. This might look attractive in the short, because it allows to proposal to move to the next stage. But it will be harmful in the long run as it will weaken the process of defining what an appropriate question is. Vote should help identify good questions, not help us move to the "commit" step. Rushing does not help if it implies working on shaky grounds.

Redistributing votes and electing not to do so are two strategies for two different players with different utility functions. The players who would redistribute votes (e.g. OP) prefer to have the Game Theory Stack Exchange sooner. Those who would advocate not using this strategy presumably do so in the interest of garnering what Area51 admins would consider a healthier community. Fascinating game you've devised here.

pnp has already hit upon the optimal strategy fro the redistributors, but the opposition (Martin Van der Linten) missed the optimal strategy in opposition thereto: opposite redistribution. If you oppose pushing this proposal through before its time, you should pull back your five votes and either sit on them or contribute them to questions that already have 10 upvotes.
