Proposal: Amateur Radio

No dearth of commercial rigs and accessories out there. Over time some brands may cease production E.g. SGC. Others may venture into the arena E.g. MFJ. There are also any number of people seeking guidance on features to run with for which something like the eham may be helpful for initial research, institutions/periodicals to subscribe to etc.

  • What kind of equipment/literature reviews would be on-topic here?
  • Should these be restricted to pointed questions?

Questions about equipment would be on topic. Reviews are typically one way, and wouldn't be on topic. However, it's fairly common for SE sites to have a blog, where such reviews could go.

I think the site could have a great blog once launched, rather looking forward to it.

Reviews aren't typically on-topic. This blog explains why.

But what is on-topic are questions like: I'm thinking of doing SOTA activations what kinds of features should I look for in an antenna?

I think it'd be a duplication of the content at eham and eham.net's review section is huge, way more in depth. Shouldn't this stack stick to the overall creed of SE and be here to answer questions and help people?
