I want to create a Stack Exchange "Casting, Metalworking, etc." site. I don't have a good name for it yet.

However, I am interested in making bronze, plastic, and aluminum casts, as well as metalworking, and the information that I have seen on the web has been spotty. As far as I know there has not been a proposal for this yet...

Maybe Woodworking could be integrated... ?

I'd love to hear some feedback.

    Wouldn't this be a subset of Mechanical Engineering Proposal. You could post example questions there and see if the community likes them. Maybe even start another discussion about it.

  • Has this ever materialized? I couldn't find any reference to metalworking or blacksmithing in the SE network. I think that "Metalworking" would be great, and I don't see a need to combine it with woodworking. Rarely do the two ever really overlap in any materials, technique, tools, or anything. I also don't think that Mech Eng is the same either, and most metal workers wouldn't know to search for Mech Eng.
