Proposal: The Bro Code

Does "Bro Code" refer to the American sitcom How I Met Your Mother, "a list of rules frequently referenced by Neil Patrick Harris' character, Barney Stinson, on how men should interact with each other, with an emphasis on activities involving pursuing members of the opposite sex."?

If it is, is the proposal intended to be broader than this definition?

That's the principle, although the concept predates How I Met Your Mother and is wider. Of course the trouble is that it's really a joke, and there are no rules for it, or even any generally accepted principles. Which is why this isn't a good proposal.

  • You understand what I was after, @DJ Clayworth. But because there aren't any set rules, I thought it would give a great conversation or debate place, with final answers finally being able to get told Oct 12, 2011 at 15:39

SE sites are NOT intended for conversation or debate. Because there are no fixed rules there are no 'final answers'. Oct 12, 2011 at 16:16
